For offshore surveyors and marine professionals, Bathy Tides provides a streamlined API interface to access tide predictions for your datasets.

Whether you’re working on bathymetric surveys or seismic data collection, Bathy Tides ensures your operations are guided by the most accurate tidal data available.

  • Integrate with ease: Get tide predictions directly into your datasets via our easy-to-use API.
  • Boost accuracy: Ensure precise tide corrections for your bathymetry and seismic data collection projects.
  • Proven reliability: Used by major oil and gas companies, our tide models are field-tested and deliver dependable results every time.

API Calls

API URI accepts query strings to define position and time period.

They can also be used for real-time tide reduction whereby a query containing simply a position will return a single tide height for the current date / time. This could be really useful for cable / pipeline route surveys to enable accurate real-time bathymetry processing.

API requests will be charged per request at various rates which are yet to be determined, but below we indicate the relative value of the different types of call:

  • 1 token:       1 location now - used for real-time - input: position; output: height only
  • 10 tokens:   1 location for a maximum of 24 hours at 10 minute intervals - input: position, startTimeUtc, numHours; output: dateTime, height
  • 60 tokens:    Up to 144 location / dateTime combinations within a 24hr period. input: polyline geojson, with point ids as unix time; output: position, dateTime, height

Custom Models

If we do not have coverage in your area of interest and you have your own simple harmonic constants we can create a model from your data, which can then be used with the BathyTides API or within Leisure Tides.

Data owners have the option to keep their custom models private so that only their personnel can use it, or make it public so that our community can benefit from better coverage.

Custom models that are public incur significantly lower cost than those kept private.

Note that Bathy Tides is still in development and is not yet ready for use. Please contact us for details of development schedule.
